Sunday to Monday / Love

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.

Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Martin Luther King, Jr

Happy Martin Luther King Jr Day! We celebrated the weekend in worship remembering the Gospel preached by Dr. King and how we can participate in being light and love in the world. Jesus calls us to follow and in following we are found.

Click here to see photos from Sunday morning; here to watch the service; and here to see photos from the breakfast we served at RCHS on Friday to teachers and staff.

For your week's devotions, reflection and conversations.

  • Upon reading John 1, what word(s) stand out to you? What might Christ be saying to you with those words?
  • Where do you pray light might enter into your “weariness and kindness”?
  • Do you operate spiritually more from “comfort and convenience” or “challenge and controversy”?
  • Watch a Martin Luther King Jr video. Ponder what it might do to transform your outlook.
  • Looking ahead to next week: What does it mean to be NEAR the kingdom of God? Mark 4:12
