Sunday to Monday / Like a Child

“When Jesus put the little child in the midst of his disciples, he did not tell the little child to become like his disciples. He told the disciples to become like the little child.” Ruth Bell Graham

"Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun." Mignon McLaughlin

It was a great day of worship yesterday as we gathering to remember Jesus' call to bless the children and to be like a child to receive the Kingdom of God. If you missed it, you can watch it here.  We remembered that Jesus made it a priority to gather, touch and bless children. Our children's and youth ministries have a huge reach: Children's Church & Nursery on Sunday mornings; Mentoring Ministry through the school year; Summer Events of VBS, ECM, The Gathering Place put together by Summer Youth Intern Jessica Thompson; Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives; Paris Elementary; and Whiz Kids at Confluence. We've been busy gathering and blessing kids! We were also reminded that we are received into the Kingdom when we are like children who are:

  • relational
  • questioning
  • in awe and wonder

Last week you were involved in a LOT of ministry! Check out photos from last week's events here, here, here and here

Reflection and discussion starters to take into your week:

  • It was important to Jesus that children were given value and attention. When are you being like Jesus and valuing children?
  • How do you exhibit faith like a child in your daily life?
  • Pray about being a GGCC mentor, Children’s Church leader; a Whiz Kid tutor or serving with children.
  • Looking ahead to next week: Who's invited to your table? Who's included?
