Sunday to Monday / Let It Be

In the deserts of the heart…let the healing fountains start.
~ W. H. Auden

Christmas is when God came down the stairs of heaven with a baby in God’s arms.” ~ R. Eugene Sterner

There is no stopping place in this life, no, nor was there ever for anyone, no matter how far along their way they have gone. This above all, then, be ready at all times for the gifts of God and always for new ones.” ~ Meister Eckhart

Mary said an extraordinary "Yes, let it be..." and we are invited to follow her into responding to God with our extraordinary "Yes, let it be..." We can be the heroes the world needs.

May our hearts be open to God's invitation as we move through Advent toward Christmas.

Reflection and discussion and contemplation for your week

  • Who is the hero who has had the biggest impact on you? Did you ever think about God’s intentions being laid before they were born?
  • Jesus’ birth was extraordinary. “ the darkest time in the year, in the poorest part of town.” ~Christopher Fry. How have you seen Jesus breaking into the world in extraordinary ways?
  • Mary was clearly confused (Luke 1:26-38). How do the ways of Jesus confuse you?
  • “I took the road less traveled and it made all the difference”~Robert Frost. Jesus’ journey was an uncommon path. Have you ever been blessed by taking the road less traveled, what difference did it make
  • Looking ahead to next week: Would you describe yourself as a welcoming person? Why or why not?
