Sunday to Monday / Learn to Be Still

“Learn to be still.”
The Eagles

It was a Super Sunday. Great worship, community and the presence of God. Pastor Dave taught about the story of the Transfiguration - a mountaintop experience for Jesus and his inner circle of disciples: Peter, James and John. (Luke 9:28-36) We have mountaintop experiences and we have low valleys too, but we can follow Jesus' pace and learn to be still that we might have opportunity to listen to Jesus, God's son - the chosen one.

Plus, the Broncos won!

Here are discussion and reflection starters for your week.

  • How well do you respond to negative stress and setbacks? Would it be helpful to pray more for greater spiritual resilience?
  • What streams (Luke 9:21-27; 9:37-43) and what mountaintops (Luke 9:28-36) is Jesus on a journey with you through right now?
  • Pray that you, we, all of us this Lent might “learn to be still.”
  • Looking ahead to next week: What are your Valentine prayers? Is romantic love something you mourn, celebrate, or …?
