Sunday to Monday / Journey

"Life is a journey, not a destination."

Yesterday Carole Schumacher shared the story of where she is from (her beginnings was many) and how she learned along the way that Jesus is one she can always count on. Ed, Amy & Dave led us in The Judds' song, "I Know Where I'm Going" (see link to music video below) on Carole's suggestion. It was a great opportunity to hear Carole's testimony and praise God together.

Take these thoughts, discussion starters and links into your week.

  • What does where you come from have to do with where you are now?
  • Where have you traveled lately and have changed as a result of that journey? How? Share your story with a friend or loved one.
  • Read Matthew 16:24-25 “Jesus said, Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat, I am. Don’t run from suffering, embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how.” Pay attention. Jesus is talking here. He is our sole (soul) navigator. He’s asking us to let him pilot the ship, drive the car, navigate our journey. Even when times are difficult, he commands us to embrace the gifts that God gives us. And yes, even suffering can be a gift. Trust your GPS (God’s Positioning System), and focus on where God wants you to journey today.
  • Looking ahead to next week: Who are the people who have helped shape your faith during times of struggle?
  • For everyone: Music video “I Know Where I’m Going” by The Judds.
  • For parents: Three Bible stories that teach kids about faith
  • For teens/young adults: Devotional activity & video on the faith journey

Awesome website you have here but I was
curious if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!
