Sunday to Monday / Jesus' Mercy Changes

“Deep tragedy will either make bitter or better. Allow God to do something new in you.”

Rob Bell

Palm Sunday / Consecration Sunday / Celebration Luncheon - yesterday was a rich, full blessing. It was our honor to host Cindy Del Hierro, co-Founder of Confluence Ministries as our guest speaker. We marched in with a parade and left humbled and somber and yet, hopeful as to what God is doing in our midst and in the world.

Consecration Sunday is the day when, annually, we make a promise to God to pledge our financial resources to join with "Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World". As of today we have received 42 pledges for $239,364. 30 of those givers "stepped up" to increase their giving. Thanks be to God!

As we begin this journey through Holy Week, here are reflection and discussion starters. We'll be looking for you on Thursday and Friday for Holy Week services and then on Sunday for the Easter Celebration.

  • When have you felt great joy and sang praises to Jesus? (Mark11:9,10)
  • When have you felt great despair and held negative emotions toward Jesus? (Mark 15:1-39)
  • Let us pray for a strength of faith that recognizes Jesus in tragedy and triumph.
  • Read Mark 16. Are you looking for, “Jesus who has been crucified…”(Mark16:6) ?
