Sunday to Monday / Jesus is Looking for Us

“I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”

Yesterday began the sermon series on the Spirituality of U2. Pastor DJ shared how the "content" of the Good News comes through in "context" to reach people where they are. (John 1:14). Faith and doubt are not opposite sides of a coin, but work in unison as we grow in our relationship with God. We ask questions like where is "Peace on Earth" and "[We] Still Don't Know What [We're] Looking For" but trust and come to know that Jesus is looking for us. (Romans 5:6-8).

Reflections, devotion and conversation starters for your week:

  • When has the living Christ come to you in your ‘weakness’? (Romans 5:6-8)
  • What have you ‘still not found that you are looking for”?
  • Is it important to you that key theological truths are held in tension such as “faith-doubt”, “comfort-discomfort”, “faith-works”, “prayer-action”? And what happens when core truths are not held in tension?
  • Looking ahead to next week: What role does community play in your life? Are  there times you have come to understand that you “cannot make it on your own”?
