Sunday to Monday | Jesus Comes to Stand in Our Doubts

“Eternal God out of whose mind this great cosmic universe we bless thee. Help us to seek that which is high, noble and Good. Help us in the moment of difficult decision. Help us to work with renewed vigor for a warless world, a better distribution of wealth, and a brotherhood that transcends race or color.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Sunday's message was the Doubting Thomas story (John 20:19-31).  Pastor Dave weaved a story which included this 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's death.  Both are models of having doubt, living in fear and gaining the strength of the risen Jesus through it.

Here's some things to think about this week:

  • Have “doubts” and “fear” ever blessed you with a stronger, deeper faith? (John 20:19-31)
  • Acknowledge to Jesus some of your current fears, doubts, and wounds. Pray that the risen Jesus might come to you now and grow your faith.
  • What are the doubts, fears and wounds of the world? Let us pray the risen Christ bring new life and faith to the world.
  • Who have you witnessed that has grown their faith through fear, doubt and wounds? Doubting Thomas or “Martin Luther King, Jr” who has inspired you spiritually. Why?
