Sunday to Monday | In the Struggle

“I came to the end, I am still with you…”

Psalm 139:18 NRSV

The worship gathering this Martin Luther King Jr weekend was a time to remember MLK's contributions to inspiring us to follow Jesus in transforming the world. Pastor Dave used Psalm 139 and John 1:43-46. MLK knew that we can't ask God to remove our struggles, but we can remember that God is with us in the struggle. If you missed being with us you can watch here. Check out photos from Sunday here and from Third Thursday here

We hope to see you at these upcoming events:

  • Sun, Jan 26 - Dan Gonzales, son of Pancho Gonzales will preach with Pastor Dave
  • Fri, Jan 31 - Bowling with Pastor Dave RSVP by Jan 23 to Vikki
  • Feb 2 - Souper Bowl Sunday, bring cans of soup for The Gathering Place
  • Sat, Feb 15 - Advance "Beyond Belief: Faith in Practice" Register here
  • Sun, Feb 16 - Annual Congregational Gathering

Take the message into your week with these reflection questions:

  • Elvis won a Grammy for ”How Great Thou Art.” What is your favorite hymn and why?
  • When have you seen someone not given a chance because of where they came from? “Can anything good come out of Nazareth…” (John 1:43-46)
  • A sneeze could have prematurely killed ML King Jr. What have you overcome to be where you are? And what will you do with this opportunity to serve?
  • Looking ahead to next week: Who taught you to fish, and what did you learn? See Mark 4:12-33 for further reflection.
