Sunday to Monday | I See You

If perfect turns to perfect mess
And all Your love is all that's left
Then I'm as real as real can be

~Christa Wells, lyric from the song “Velveteen”

It was a cold snowy morning but we had a good gathering yesterday morning. We talked of widows and Jesus' invitation to see and be seen and be real. In Mark 12:38-44 Jesus notices a woman who gives her all, her very life in a prophetic foreshadowing of Jesus' own death. We are invited to see the "invisible" around and among us. We can see and be seen because of our Savior who sees each one of us.

Missed being with us? Watch here. Pray with us here. And see a few photos from the day here

For your week's reflection, study and conversations:

  • How do you hear the story of the widow in Mark 12:38-44? Is this a story about financial giving? Why or why not?
  • If Jesus were standing next to you today who would he point out now?
  • When do you feel as if you’ve been seen?
  • Think of a time when you gave your all. How did it feel? Is it something you want to do regularly? Why or why not?
  • Looking ahead to next week: Pray for Brad Corrigan, Daisy Wiberg and Love, Light and Melody in preparation for their visit with us next week.
