Sunday to Monday | Hope

“When we hope, we acknowledge that God has an imagination far more expansive than ours." - Christine Valters Paintner

The 4th Sunday in Advent was our time for Hope.  We welcomed Jude & Cindy Del Hierro, a full band and several friends we had not seen in a while. We considered Joseph and the Christmas story from Matthew 1:18-25. We practiced a Bible reading/journaling technique called SOAP - Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. If you couldn't be with us, you can watch here. See photos here

This past weekend was the annual Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives Christmas Party. It was a joy to welcome families with Rev and spread a little cheer. See photos here and here

We'll be looking for you tomorrow at 3:00 or 5:00 pm for Christmas Eve Celebration Worship at the RCHS Auditorium.

Take the message into your week.

  • When things don’t turn out as you planned, how do you find hope? Can we believe that God is really, truly with us?
  • Joseph did exactly as the angel in the dream instructed; how was hope a part of this? How does hope help you to listen to God?
  • How could you incorporate S.O.A.P. into your daily routine? How could we help support you in doing that?
  • Looking ahead to next week: How many times have you moved in your life? How did you feel about it?
