Sunday to Monday | Hard can be Holy

Yesterday was the Third Sunday of Easter and boy, do we need Easter. Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen Indeed! We "gathered" to worship and praise and thank our God via the stream. If you missed being with us, you can watch it here. We learned that sometimes we are kept from recognizing Jesus, just like those disciples on the road to Emmaus. But three practices will help:

  1. Reading the scriptures, the Bible with others opens us up to who God is and what God is doing;
  2. Breaking bread together. In Holy Communion we remember Jesus with us;
  3. Being hospitable, welcoming and serving others.

Check out some photos from worship here and from a birthday caravan on Saturday here

We take the message into our week's conversations, reflections and devotions.

  • Read the Emmaus Road story in Luke 24:13-32. Imagine that you are there - what do you see, touch, hear, smell, taste?
  • When has a stranger helped open your eyes and heart to Jesus?
  • Why do you think we don't recognize Jesus walking alongside us?
  • Listen to this song and pretend that it's Jesus singing he wants you to have it all.
  • Visit the homepage daily for links and resources on the right hand column.
