Sunday to Monday / Hammers in Action

If you were anywhere near Platte River Academy in Highlands Ranch yesterday morning you heard the sound of hammers.  LOTS of hammers!  I think there were around 200 people gathered to join Mission Ministries and Raising the Walls to frame four homes for families near Juarez, Mexico.  At least two churches were represented: Church at the Ranch and God's Grace Community Church.  We made new friends.  The church in Juarez was represented by Pastor Leo, his son and a few others.

It was a beautiful morning - not just weather-wise. There were donuts, kids' crafts, everyone making new friends and Jesus wandering all around. Click here to see photos of the day.

As we go into our week, may we continue to reflect on what it means to worship through serving, gather with other Christians and join Jesus in changing the world.

Discussion starters for the week:

  • What happens when you hear stories of people who don't have adequate shelter or a home?
  • Why is serving people we don't know important?  Or is it?
  • How does serving others impact your faith?
  • Looking ahead to next week: Read Matthew 5:1-12.  Consider what Jesus considers "blessed".
