Sunday to Monday/ Greatest Generation

“If Jesus Christ had taken a poll, he would have never preached the Gospel.”

~ Representative Henry Hyde, “You can say that again,”

U.S. News & World Report, January 11,1999, 18.

The generation that first heard Jesus did not give him a very high approval rating:  They said, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!

(Matthew 11:19)

On Sunday, Pastor Dave’s sermon was entitled “The Greatest Generation.”  Good stuff to think about as we gather with extended family this summer for reunions and special events, and as we celebrate our country’s independence this week. Text was from Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30.

Some things to think about as you start your week…

• What generation has been the greatest?  Which generation would you most want to be part of?

• What are the gifts and challenges of your generation?

• How have other generations blessed you?

• Is any generation better than any other?  True greatness is inherited by those who are faithful to Jesus.  (Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30)
