Sunday to Monday / Great Faith Doesn't Take Offense

…yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the masters table.
Matthew 15:27

Pastor Dave shared stories of "great faith" like that of the woman's in Matthew 15:21-28.  We all pray for "great faith"; faith that is willing to hope that anything is possible - with God.  (Numbers 13)

Reflection, discussion and activities to take the message into this week:

  • When you see obstacles and challenges do you first seek a way in or a way out? (Numbers 13:17 and following)
  • When have you asked Jesus to help you with a challenge, and what was the result?
  • “It has been said the size of a person’s faith will be determined by what it takes to derail them from God’s best.” How big is your faith? How easily do you lose faith and give up when confronted by an obstacle? (Matthew 15:21-28)
  • When have you been offended? When we are offended Jesus is unable to do miracles among us (Matthew 13:57,58). Let us pray for the strength of God that seeks to not be offended, so that Jesus’ miraculous deeds might be done among us.
  • Looking ahead to next week: Reflect on Matthew 16:13-20. If you were asked in an elevator to describe the identity of Jesus ? What would you say?
