Sunday to Monday / Free to Follow Jesus

“It is not the task of Christianity to provide easy answers to every question, but to make us progressively aware of a mystery. God is not so much the object of our knowledge as the cause of our wonder.”

Kallistos Ware

Grace and peace this Monday morning! We live in a Benevolent Universe. We are created in God's image. And God's image includes the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are free to be loved and to love. Thanks Mark Autterson for this wonderful message.

We're thinking of everyone starting school this week and next. We blessed students, education professionals and parents. Because you are a child of God, you can take risks and make mistakes. Go for it!

The concert by Ed and Dave in Kathryn's backyard was a huge success! Besides building relationships and listening to great music, $1,029 was raised for Paris Elementary's Dean of Students and his idea to hang screens in the cafeteria to surround the kids with positive message.

Some starters for your devotional and conversational times this week:

  • Think about the images you have about God. How have your God images changed since you were a child? What are some of the traits you recognize in God? Where do you feel God’s Presence?
  • How has your relationship with God developed throughout your life? How do you talk to God? What sorts of things do you share with God? Who does most the talking? Who does most the listening?
  • How does God respond to you? How do you respond to God? Share with someone, how God and the people he has put in your journey, have impacted your life.
  • Think about a specific God experience you’ve had. How did it impact you? When did it happen? What feelings and insights did you experience? How does this experience stick with you still?
  • Are we prepared to let Jesus be our example? Jesus by the out pouring of His love reconnected man to God. Now it is our turn. See John 8: Vs. 31-32 The Message. We are the channels for sending His redemptive love out into the world.
