Sunday to Monday / Found in God's grace

“There was a deep black, wordless conviction in him that
the way to avoid Jesus was to avoid sin.”

Flannery O’ Connor, “Wise Blood”

Sunday, March 6 was a special morning of welcoming our friend, Rodney Jackson, and celebrating the Prodigal (extravagant) Love of God. We are all lost younger sons and elder sons, but God welcomes us home with grace, mercy and unconditional love.

Take the thoughts from Luke 15 into your week.

  • In the “Prodigal Son"story which character do you most identify with: youngest son, the elder son, or the father? See Luke 15:11-32 for reference.
  • How do you feel when Jesus says, “…the prostitutes will go into the kingdom of God ahead of you.”(Matthew 21:31)?
  • Why is it so challenging to watch everybody receive the grace of God in large abundant amounts?
  • Looking ahead to Sunday: In what circumstances do I feel generous? How can I bring forth more of my most generous self?
