Sunday to Monday | For All The Saints

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. ~ Matthew 5:4, NRSV

You're blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the one most dear to you. ~ Matthew 5:4, The Message

Yesterday was All Saints Sunday . . . a time to remember those who have helped to shape our spiritual life.  Seth Godin has some great advice about associating yourself with people who will help to shape you.

Who you hang out with determines what you dream about and what you collide with.

And the collisions and the dreams lead to your changes.

And the changes are what you become.

Change the outcome by changing your circle.

Some questions to help you reflect on Sunday’s message…

  • Who are the Saints who have shaped your? Still living? Now dead?
  • What verse in Matthew 5:1-12 stands out to you? Pray over that verse. What is Jesus telling you?
  • When Hebrews 12:1,2 talks of us being surrounded by a “cloud of witnesses,” who is in your cloud? Do you trust they are there? What do they offer your earthly journey?
  • If a Saint is “a forgiven sinner” as Martin Luther said, you are a Saint. Pray that you as a Saint will be faithful to leaving the mark of Jesus as your legacy.
