Sunday to Monday / Father's Love

“Then the father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.’”

Luke 15:31-32

We had a great celebration of fathers and all the men who nurture - complete with root beer floats! Pastor Dave's dad, Pastor Milt, was the preacher and he shared about the parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15:11-32, aka the Prodigal Son. Pastor Milt reminded us that God loves us because of who God is, not because of what we do or who we are (lost son or elder son).

If we missed you, watch the service here. Check out photos from the past week:

Lots more Summer Fun planned! Go here for upcoming events.

Take these thoughts, discussion starters and reflections into your week:

  • Read Luke 15:11-32. By temperament and experience, whom do you identify with in this story?
  • When it comes to spiritual things, what is your response to God’s party?
  • How have you experienced God as this Father?
  • If you had to compare your spiritual journey to the prodigal son’s journey, where are you now?
  • Looking ahead to next week: What is your reaction to the statement "Life isn't fair".
