“God does not do things the way we do things. Sometimes the ways of God among us seem inefficient, slow, and unspectacular. Yet the reign of God breaks out among us in unexpected, miraculous ways, and what we consider to be waste is in reality God’s glorious work of redemption.”
~ William H. Willimon
The title of Pastor Dave’s sermon on Sunday, was “Faithfully Wasteful.” Text was from Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23.
Some questions to ponder as you move into your week…
· Are you addicted to high efficiency and multitasking?
· How is it good news for your life that “waste appears to be part of the way that God’s love comes into the world?” (Matthew 13:1-9,18-23)
· Pray and reflect upon how you could bless yourself and the world by “faithfully being wasteful” this week.
· Offer thanks to God for those who “faithfully wasted time, love and mercy on you in Jesus’ name, scattering seeds of faith with no guarantee of the fruit that’s begun in you.”
