Sunday to Monday / Daily Bread

Sunday, March 1st found us back together again (finally!) and the sun shining. We gathered to celebrate the mission and vision of GGCC "Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World" and to thank God for giving us all we need.

The series, Lord Teach Us to Pray, continued with the petition "Give us this day our daily bread" and Pastor Dave shared how our grocery receipts are a spiritual tool. When we spend time on our up relationship with God and in relationship with others, we can go out to join Jesus in changing the world.

Following the 10:30 service, the Annual GGCC Congregational Gathering and Celebration was held.  It was a celebration of what God did in 2014 and what we can look forward to God doing in 2015.  The "scorecard" numbers showed how God multiplies what we think is "small" into amazing blessings.

Click here to read Pastor Dave's State of the Church report. The 2015 budget was approved for $367,748 (if you want to see the details contact Vikki). We renewed and affirmed our participation in the mission and vision of GGCC.

Reflections, conversation starters and links for your week.

  • Take some time to look at your grocery receipt. Give thanks for the employment that allows you to buy such things. Give gratitude to God for the miracle that allows your food to spring forth from the earth.
  • Read Deuteronomy 14:28,29 and pray that we might each do our part for such generosity to spring forth among us.
  • Ponder how gathering in community worship has gifted you to see Christ in the mundane. To see Jesus “…in the breaking of the bread” (Luke 24:30,31)
  • Pray boldly for the courage to have a “Red Hot Center”, such as that referenced in the book of Acts 2:42-47
  • Let the words of Matthew 5:17-48 bring light to your daily path.
