Sunday to Monday/ Come and See

The story is told that when David Livingstone was in Africa, a mission society once wrote that they had some good men to send to help him. They asked if there was a good road to the famous missionary’s current location. He wrote back, “If you have men who will come only if they know there is a good road, I don’t want them. I want men who will come even if there is no road.”

He said to them, ‘Come and see.’ They came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon.
John 1:39

On Sunday, Pastor Dave’s sermon was entitled “Come & See,” John 1:35-50. We are reminded that good can come out of anywhere, lest we open our eyes to see.

Some questions to reflect on yesterday’s message…

· When has someone invited you to “come and see” Jesus? (John 1:39)

· How might you invite another to come and see Jesus? Remember Jesus comes to be seen when few have high expectations. (John 1:46, 47)

· Consider the key words of John: “Follow” (John 1:43), “Found” (John 1:43-45), “Come and See” (John 1:46). Prayerfully reflect upon what Jesus is saying to you in the text.
