Sunday to Monday / Bridges

“In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” Matthew 5:48 The Message

Sunday, Feb 19, we heard from Pastor Dave, Terry, Cleo, Trace, Steve, Bill and Donna Rose about their trip to Memphis, TN / Booneville, MS. We heard how they represented us at our sister congregation, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and how their hearts were opened to engaging new people and places and history. It was good.

If you were unable to be with us or to stream, go here to watch. Check out photos from Sunday morning here and from last week's Open Door After School Program here and Whiz Kids tutoring ministry at Confluence here

For your reflections and conversations this week.

  • Who are your enemies? See Matthew 5:38-48 for further reflection.
  • Can you name a time an enemy has become a friend through the love of Jesus?
  • When have you experienced a culture or race that was new to you? How did it transform you or influence your perspective on the world?
  • Looking ahead to next week: What does it mean spiritually to “go to the mountaintop”? See Matthew 17:1-8 for further reflection.
