Sunday to Monday | Breaking and Entering

On Sunday, Pastor Dave talked about how sometimes we are on the mat and sometimes we carry others on the mat into the miraculous healing presence of Jesus. GGCC participant Steve Hammack shared stories of Jesus doing miracles in his life and the lives of his family.

At the 10:30 service four youth celebrated the Rite of Passage - Confirmation of Faith.  Rites of Passage Ministry is in the spiritual DNA of GGCC: Jesus surrounds people during key life transitions to grow with God. A specific life transition that we recognize today is the adolescent move into high school: an opportunity to remember God’s presence through life so far, remember the gifts received in baptism, affirm those gifts and God’s presence for strength for the future. But “confirming one’s faith” isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it’s an ongoing lifelong journey.

Some questions to think about this week....

  • When has someone carried you on the mat? (Mark 2:1-12)
  • When have you carried another on the mat? (Mark 2:1-12)
  • The story is one of ingenuity and creativity, going through the roof to gain access to Jesus. Are you creative and persistent enough in your relationship with Jesus? (Mark 2:1-12)
  • Pray that you will be faithful to those who need their mat carried. Pray also that when you need carried by others, that they will be there for you.

Jeremiah 1:55 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and beofre thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. In other words, God knew Jeremiah beofre he was born, so he existed beofre he was born.
