Sunday to Monday / Bitter to Better - Christ is Risen!

The only way interesting things happen is through pure slog.” Richard Rohr

Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

It was a great Easter / Resurrection Sunday Celebration!

The Holy Weekend began with the service of Sights, Sounds and Smells of Good Friday at Confluence Ministries. We gathered to reflect, pray and encounter final moments of Jesus' life. Check it out here. An offering of $1528 was received for Confluence. Thanks be to God!

Sunday morning was beautiful with the band leading us in moving worship and Pastor Dave teaching the Easter message that we can move from bitter to better through the Good News that "he is not here, he is risen". Mark 16:1-8. Pastor Dave shared a teaching from "pastor" Garth Brooks in his song The Dance. (click here for video)

I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

The morning was filled with praise and gratitude for what God is doing among us and in the world. An offering of $17, 538 for the ministry of GGCC was received.  Thanks be to God!

For your devotions and reflections this week.

  • Richard Rohr says, “Interesting things come to life through pure slog.” When have you seen new life come out of struggle? Or death be transformed to resurrected life? (Mark 16:1-4)
  • Do you prefer the measurable or the immeasurable world? Why do we need both (scientist and poets)? How were the first witnesses to the resurrection immersed in both what is measured and immeasurable
  • Pray that the power of the resurrection can address the “bitter” places within you to make you “better.”
  • Pray for Bismark, our missionary in Nicaragua that God’s Grace Community Church supports in partnership with ”Love Light and Melody”.
