Sunday to Monday | Biblically Depression Proof

The season of Advent or the time set aside for waiting for Jesus to come and come again is upon us.  Pastor Dave spoke on Sunday about the teaching from Jesus on what the end times will be like when he will come again. "Keep your head up as your redemption is drawing near.” Even in tough times keep your head up and stay hopeful.

Discussion questions for this first week of Advent:

  • What is your greatest fear? (Luke 21:25-36)
  • Why would Jesus want us to be prepared to face fear? (Luke 21:34-36) Are you “on guard?” Do you trust that Jesus is beside you forever?
  • List your fears and pray that Jesus will prepare you to face your fears.
  • People rose at the “crack of dawn” to go hear Jesus. Is Jesus important enough to you to make extra time to sit at his feet through scripture and prayer?

First Sunday of Advent: Hope
1. Light one candle to symbolize Hope.
2. Read Luke 1:26-38 about the angel Gabriel coming to tell Mary she would be the mother of the Son of God.
3. Question: How did Mary have Hope?
3. Pray: Lord, help us to have Hope like Mary.
4. Activity: Sing or listen to a few songs like Away in a Manger or Silent Night, or songs about Mary.
