"You are my beloved, my favor rests on you.” ~ Matthew 17:5
On Sunday, Pastor Dave talked about how we are beloved and identified on the moutain tops in our faith life, but that identification follows us in the valleys. Those who claim it on the mountain top and in the valleys are those with rich faith.
Some questions to think about this week:
- What does it mean that Jesus was “beloved” by God? (Matthew 17:5)
- Do you have a sacred space and/or relic? What are some stories of how that place or the objects connect you to God? (Matthew 17:1)
- Have you ever returned from a very “holy experience” and been called quicker into the valley of reality than you desired? How did God use this experience to shape you?
- If you could select a Peter, James and John (Matthew 17:1) to enter into an experience of spiritual formation with you, who would you select and why?
- Pray for the human experience of mountain tops and valleys with Jesus. May we be faithful to the journey. (Matthew 17:9)
