Sunday to Monday / Amazing Faith

Faith kicks us out of our safety net and into the world.
If nothing’s on the line, then there’s no faith required.

– John Fischer

Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.
-- Corrie Ten Boom

It's Memorial Day Weekend: a day we remember and give thanks for those who gave their lives in service to our country and for our freedoms. The Gospel for Sunday featured an officer in the Roman military who surprised and amazed Jesus with his faith. We were reminded that Jesus came to save the whole world: insiders, outsiders, friends and enemies.

“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.”  -- Joseph Campbell
