Sunday to Monday / Advent Journey

It was a joy to hear Jenny Caughlin describe her trip to the Holy Land this past summer.  The illusions that were shattered, seeing evidence of Jesus' presence there, having Biblical stories come to life and how the Holy Spirit filled her soul.   What a wonderful way to begin our Advent journey (the four weeks leading up to Christmas.)

We lit the first candle in our Advent wreath: the Candle of Home and started our manger scene with the Stable - a reminder that if Jesus could be born in a stable, Jesus can be at home anywhere - even in our hearts.

Some things for you to consider this week.

  • How is Advent (a time of preparing for the mystery of Christmas) part of your devotional life?  Click here for a page of links to many Advent resources.
  • What does it mean to you that Jesus lived here on earth?
  • Where is Jesus’ home? Where is your home? Do the two intersect?
  • How do we walk in Jesus’ footsteps here in our part of the world? Reflect on how you might intentionally walk in Jesus’ path this Advent season.
