Sunday to Monday | Decisions for a Life That Matters

On Sunday, Pastor Dave continued with his 5 part sermon series on Practicing Greatness, inspired by Reggie McNeal. The topic of week 3 was "Decisions for a Life That Matters." Pastor Dave reminded us that God wants us to be involved in what matters! God will "get it done" with us or without us, but doesn't it feel good to be a part of something big? He encouraged us to be healed and then SERVE. He talked about the difference between pity and compassion. He reminded us that our CALL is what we do, while our MISSION is who we are and is all about discovering ourselves.  Here's some questions from Sunday's message:

  • What people or casue do you feel drawn to?
  • What do you want to help people do or achieve or experience?
  • How do you want to help people?
  • What message do you want to deliver?
  • How do you intend to serve or have an impact on the world?
  • Why did you say yes to God to begin with?
Here are some addtional questions to guide you through the week...

· Do you have a “deserted place” to go and pray (Mark 1:35)?

· Do you ever grow weary of people “being in search of you” and you need more time to pray and be alone with God (Mark 1:37)? How could you gain more time to be with God?

· What is it that God has called you to “come and do” (Mark 1:38)?

· Let us give thanks that God has blessed us and find a way from here to Haiti to be a blessing to other each day (Genesis 1:1-3).
