Sunday to Monday |The Lord Needs It

Luke 19: 30-34 Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it.'Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying the colt?"

They replied, "The Lord needs it."

Jesus was not who the people "expected" and that made him unpopular.

Luke 19:38 Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

...and so it went. Holy Week is upon us.

Loving Jesus, we know that as we walk with you through the week of betrayal and trial, we somehow experience how you walk with us through our days of weariness, our times of denial and betrayal, our seasons of sadness and tears. We know that we want to be close to you in this tender, painful week; and that we want our hearts to be pulled from thewoundednessof life into the healing of Easter joy.Hold us firmly, and open us gently to your truth.

Some questions to think about this Holy Week...
·Can you think of a time when someone who applauded you made a sudden turn around and began disparaging you? How did you feel? What did you do?
·When has God made a request "the Lord needs it" (Luke 19:34) of you? What was/is your response?
·What spiritual practices will you choose to walk into Holy Week and follow Jesus' path to the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection?
·What do you want God to do in your life this week?
