Sunday to Monday | Managing the Inner Self

On Sunday, Pastor Dave began his 5 part sermon series on Practicing Greatness, inspired by Reggie McNeal. The topic was "Managing the Inner Self." He spoke about personal responsibility (or the lack thereof) that each and every one of has within us, guiding us and shaping our lives.  He shared several stories about himself as well as individuals he knows who have been greatly affected by experiences they've had and how they were raised. It reminded us that our life's tapestry is woven by our past and present relationships and experiences. Pastor Dave encouraged us to "keep pressing not give up." He ended with a quote from Rob Bell..."God wastes nothing."

News was also shared about the passing of Elsie McGreagor and Pastor Dave's friend, Miles. We thanked God for the blessing of these two saints and prayed for their grieving friends and families.

Here are some questions to guide you through the week...

  •      When you pray the 51st Psalm what inner work does Jesus stir in you?
  •      Do you resonate with any of Paul’s call in Philippians 3?
  •      Where is God saying “bad has come your way,” but remember God does not waste anything “move forward with hope.” (Genesis 50:20)
  •      How might you bless 2 people each day (Genesis 12:1-3)
