“He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.” Ephesians 2:6

“Hidden in all stories is the One story. The more we listen, the clearer that story becomes. Our true identity, who we are, why we are here and what sustains us in this story. The stories we share are about the same things, stories of owning, having and losing, stories of pain, of wounding, of courage, hope and healing, of loneliness and the end of loneliness. Stories about God.”

“In telling them, we are telling each other the human story. Stories that touch us in this place of common humanness awaken us and weave us together as a family of God.” Rachel Remen MD

Sharing stories with my family and my friends has helped to shape who I am. It’s true most of us see certain events very differently but, what we have experienced through the events of our lives is our real story and how it has shaped us, belongs to us alone. My daughter has a chronic illness. God has been good, he has put wonderful doctors in her life. She takes a medical as well as, holistic approach to managing her illness. She meditates and she prays. She listens to that inner voice. Still, occasionally there are flare ups and discouragement can set in.

As always when I asked my church family to pray for Heather, we were surrounded by unconditional love and prayers. Being united and connected to one another in God’s Spirit is powerful. God’s mercy is always present. There is a calm and peace now, that all will be well. Being able to share your stories through the telling and prayer is seeing Christ' love at work.

Abba God,
I thank you for your saints here on earth. For the breath of life you breathe into your people. Teach us Lord, to grow and walk this earth with gentleness, meekness, patience, long-suffering, charity and kindness. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
