Still Feeling Easter?

Can you believe Easter passed weeks ago—already?!! It is true that the older you get, the quicker time seems to pass. I woke this morning trying to still feel Easter. It always seems much easier during Easter week, Easter Sunday, and even the week following Easter to be filled with the “feel of Easter”.

What is it that we feel? Good question. For each of us, it is something different: Is it warm and fuzzy like a Spring chick? Is it an appreciation for the grace our dear Lamb of God provides for us. Is it awe that God would send his Son to die in such humiliation? How can we truly understand what the Easter feeling is when the event is transcendent? Perhaps, we will not come to fully realize the Easter feeling until we join Jesus in Heaven? I know that it pleases God when we try; therefore, I will continue to try to “feel Easter”.

We bless you for the day you have made, Mighty Lord Jesus, and pray that we may spend this day rejoicing in your creation. We pray for your Holy Spirit to fill us with the joy of our salvation, so that your light may shine through us into the world, that your honor and glory may be known to all people. We thank you for Easter and the “Easter feeling”. May we “try” to feel it within us every day.  Amen.
