Step by Step

Habakkuk 1:1-17

Habakkuk 1:2 “How long O, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen?”

I have called on the Lord for help and felt he did not listen.

I have cried and shouted.

I do not know all the answers.

I do know “Jesus Wept.”

I do know Jesus fed the hungry.

I do know Jesus gave sight to the blind.

I do know Jesus got rid of demons.

In this world… in my world, things don’t always make sense.

As Habakkuk saw…

I see violence,

I see injustice,

I see wrong,

I see destruction, strife, and conflict…

And it gets me down.

Habakkuk said (3:18) “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in GOD my Savior.

When I am getting down, or when I am down, I feel the world closing in. I feel like everything is targeted at me and the burden is overwhelming. Faith is far away, it is hard to feel and is even hard to think about.

Faith is not something that comes in a pill, or a bottle, or a gun…

Faith comes by putting one foot in front of the other… faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

So if you see violence… and you will,

Or if you see injustice… and you will,

Or if you see wrong… and you will,

Or if you see destruction, strife, and conflict… and you will

Then get up, put one foot in front of the other and know this…

Know deep in the marrow of your bones that you are loved. You are a wonderful, loving, precious child of GOD!

Precious Father, Loving God, Holy Spirit I pray. I pray to feel you and see you in every breath I take. I pray Lord for you to help me alleviate my fears and I pray Lord for those that live in fear. AMEN!
