So What?

Christ is Risen!

He is risen indeed!

Christ is Risen!

So what?

We celebrated Easter last Sunday. We proclaimed Christ risen. Did we mean it?

“The practice of resurrection is an intentional, deliberate decision to believe and participate in resurrection life, life out of death, life that trumps death, life that is the last word, Jesus life.” Eugene Peterson

We practice and participate in resurrection life? But what does that even mean?

I’m not sure, but I wonder if it means

  • Seeing, really seeing, the new life that is emerging around us as spring arrives
  • Praying for God’s Spirit to fill afresh where we are dying so that hope, grace, mercy and peace have a place in our lives
  • Believing that people and systems can change, and working for that change
  • Embracing the future because we know violence, oppression, suffering and death will not win

“Changemaking happens when people fall in love with a different version of the future.” Seth Godin

Christ is Risen!

Let’s mean it!

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow as we gather to celebrate and proclaim life over death at 10:00 am (one service only.) Our sisters and brothers from Mississippi and Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church join us and Pastor Jolly proclaims the Good News. It’s our annual Consecration Sunday where we consider what generosity means for us as a spiritual practice, followed by the Celebration Luncheon. It won’t be the same without you.

Grace be with you,

Vikki

"One new perception, one fresh thought, one act of surrender, one change of heart, one leap of faith, can change your life forever." Robert Holden
