Root of Joy

When Jesus comes through with mercy and grace just when we need it, do we skip joyfully on with our life or do we stop and give thanks and praise God?

That’s a convicting question. See Luke 17:9-11.

"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." Marcus Tullius Cicero, 1st century b.c.e.

Are we grateful because we’re happy? Or, are we happy because we’re grateful? Brother David Stendl-Rast makes the case in this TedTalk that if we want to be happy, we must first be grateful.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. or online at www.GodsGraceCC.com/watch as we gather to consider Luke’s Gospel story of Jesus and the 10 Lepers and what that might mean for our lives today. (There’s a lot for us in it!)

Grace be with you,

Vikki
