“I Could Sing of Your Love Forever”
Over the mountains and the sea,
Your river runs with love for me.
And I will open up my heart,
And let the Healer set me free.
I’m happy to be in the truth,
And I will daily lift my hands.
For I will always sing
Of when Your love came down.
This song compares God’s love to a river. His love flows into our lives at all times, whether they are difficult times or
good. Nothing can stop its flow.
The question is, will we receive it? Will we open our hearts and let Him in? Will we bare our souls to Him? Will we let Him wash away our sins?
Expectations of how our lives should be, feelings of unworthiness, and giving in to self-pity can block the love God wants us to know. Trying to be in control of everything around us can lead us to a dark places. When we relinquish our attempts to control how and when God’s love should come to us, we will open ourselves up to a flood.
PRAYER:
Dear God, I ask you to open my heart to receive the love you have for me. Help me to let go of the control and be ready for the swim of my life. In your son’s name, Jesus I pray.
