Promise

How long do I have to wait? That’s the question Abram had for God. God had promised that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars. And yet, Abram and his wife Sarai remained childless into their old age.

How do we overcome our fears and doubts that God has forgotten us? I think Abram’s story in Genesis 15 is helpful. We talk to God. We remain in God’s presence. We worship. We don’t turn our back on God.

We have the benefit of being able to hear and read story after story of God’s faithfulness. From Abram to Joseph to David to Daniel to Mary to Paul…stories from the Bible. And the stories of the faithful throughout history from Martin Luther to Martin Luther King, Jr to Mother Theresa to our missionary Bismark in Nicaragua.

Tomorrow, we’ll share the stories of God’s faithfulness for GGCC in 2015 at the Annual Congregational Gathering & Celebration.

God is patient, God is kind, God is merciful. God trusts. God doesn’t hold a grudge. God isn’t irritable. God lasts.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow as we share The Promise of a Journey. Worship at 9:00 or 10:30 and the Celebration at 11:30.

Grace be with you,
Vikki
