Praying People

Our missional community prayed for and blessed students, teachers/staff and parents heading back to the new school year on Sunday in worship. These prayers and blessings included those present with us and those who couldn't be there, as well the community of Paris Elementary in Aurora, CO who are recipients of our 7th annual school supply drive.

Tuesday, GGCC staff prayed for all the freshmen and new students and teachers/staff/admin at RCHS. We prayed for all the students and teachers/staff/admin at Paris Elementary starting their first week of school. We prayed for the children at the Love, Light and Melody safehouse in El Crucero, Nicaragua. We prayed for Rev Leon Kelly as he prepares for another year of the Open Door Youth Gang Alternatives Afterschool Program at Wyatt Edison Charter School in Denver.

"Gracious God, we ask your special blessing on the freshmen class and all new students at RCHS. Fill them with courage, confidence and peace; ease their anxiety and help them to be kind to everyone they meet. Be with the teachers/staff/administrators at RCHS: give them appropriate expectations, help them to welcome each student and see them as the special children of God each one is. Keep the hallways of RCHS safe and healthy.

Lord, we pray for all the community of Paris Elementary. Children are so joyful about starting a new school year, may that joy continue in their learning, friendships and with their teachers.

Hear our prayers for the children of the safehouse in El Crucero, Nicaragua. Continue to keep them safe and growing; bless with them with the joy of learning and help them to get along. Be with them while they navigate their family relationships.

Bless Rev Kelly, God, give him a revived sense of purpose and fill him with energy, enthusiasm and confidence as he pulls together another year of this program that is so transformational and makes such a difference.

Hear our prayers for all students, teachers, staff, administrators and parents. May the community to remember that it takes a village to raise up young people and may they value the gifts of children and students in their midst. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
