Prayer Assault

Dear Prayer Partners,

In his classic “The Practice of the Presence of God,” Brother Lawrence writes that prayer is a simple matter of attentiveness to and companionship with God:

“I have given up all devotions and pieties which are not of obligation, and instead try to keep myself always in God's holy presence by simple attentiveness and loving gaze upon Him (Her). This I may call the actual presence of God, or to speak more accurately, an habitual, silent and hidden communion of the soul with Him (Her)…The most holy, the most general and the most necessary practice in the spiritual life is the practice of the presence of God, whereby the soul finds her joy and contentment in His (her) companionship, talking humbly and lovingly to Him (Her) always and at all times, without rule or system.”      Brother Lawrence

This week, regardless of your praying ability,  ask God to ‘teach us to pray’ anew (Luke 11:1). What would the world begin to look like if we all assaulted the Lord requesting Christ to be our prayer mentor with renewed intent?

Prayer concerns: Global Leadership, Brad Gauen who is receiving a kidney transplant from his brother today, and all others who are sick; for the hungry, and the homeless.

It will be a special Sunday at God’s Grace! Dr. Larron Jackson is preaching. Daisy Wiberg is going to be present and give us an update on the ministry we share in Nicaragua!

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
