Pray About Everything; Worry About Nothing

Just today we put the above message on my daughter’s wall of her apartment. She is ready to start her sophomore year of college as an independent young woman in her first apartment. And she is accepting God’s hand to take her through that journey.

We have spent the past few days moving, traveling and unpacking the contents of her new home.  It is exciting and yet a little sad, this whole moving process. We will need to leave her in Texas tomorrow but I know she’ll be just fine, having lots of visits from our oldest daughter who will be staying with her intermittently this fall. I too, now must pray and not worry.

I have also noticed this verse hard at work in other occasions the past few weeks. My father in-law recently had surgery to remove a cancerous lymph node.  When the doctors performed the surgery, they found the lymph node infected, but not cancerous! Thanks Be to God for answering prayers!

The Auttersons’ just went to visit their very dear old brother in-law, Bud. They were able to pray with Bud on his deathbed and found him actually excited to be moving onto greater things to come.  Bud has most certainly done his praying and left his worries to God.

Praying takes us from being powerless to powerful (through God’s mighty works). It helps provide peace, and stability in our lives. How many times have doctors been surprised by the success of their patient’s futures because of the power of prayers?

Today, I pray for you reading this devotion that your prayers will be answered and your worries dismissed. You are a precious child of God. Make God’s day and pray awhile with Him! I also pray that those with medical conditions will be touched by God’s healing and their families comforted by God’s love.

Peace,
Wendy Saathoff
