Plentiful Faith

To Those Blessed With Little Faith,
“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!” Jesus replied, ‘If you had faith the size of a mustard seed you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would do it”. (Luke 17:5,6)
How much faith is enough?
In the book “Beach Music,”  Pat Conroy writes of Lucy, whose own brother is the priest who administers her last rites. Lucy is no saint, but she has the prayers of many of the faithful to commend her in her dying. Conroy speaks of how, even in her death, Lucy is borne up by the prayers of dozens of faithful servants of God.
“For a solid week he had prayed and fasted for his sister. His faith was unshakable, and he believed that any of Lucy’s sins were lightweight to the God who had wept his way through this unendurable century. The entire monastery had stockpiled prayers for Lucy. She would enter paradise buoyed up on a field of praise, well recommended.”  (Pat Conroy, Beach Music, Doubleday, 1995,p.609.)
If you ask for more faith as the apostles did, may you be blessed in the certainty that your "lack of"  represents plentiful faith to Christ Jesus.
