Permission to Take Control

A few weeks ago I needed to upgrade some software to a newer version.  Actually an upgrade to a different product so I was a bit nervous transferring years of records over to something with which I was unfamiliar.  So I made a phone call and talked with a nice man from another country.  I’m glad I called to have someone walk me through the process as I was on the phone for over an hour and a half.  I had lots of questions and he was able to sense my uneasiness as it was more complicated than I had anticipated.

So he asked if he could have permission to virtually take control of my computer.  Permission granted!

It was amazing watching my cursor move along the screen clicking away while I was hands-free.  He knew what he was doing and I just sat back with a grateful heart that I was able to give up control and let someone else with loads of experience take over and do the work for me.   And all of this taking place in another part of the world.

Sometimes my relationship is like this with God.  I get frustrated with stuff and try to go it alone rather than ring Him up and tell him my troubles and ask him to take over.  But when I do my life almost feels like I’m on cruise control.  I’m still in the seat but I’m guided along by my Creator who makes the drive a wonderful journey.

Get in your driver’s seat and allow God to steer.

Blessings on the journey,

Nancy Nickoley

Nancy, Perfect analogy :) Kind of like the Carrie Underwood song, Jesus Take the Wheel. Thanks for sharing and the great reminder.
