Perfect Day

What would be your perfect day?
+ Hiking in the mountains
+ Going to the spa
+ Sleeping in
+ Shopping
+ Visiting your best friend

I ran across a quote by John Wooden that describes a “perfect” day in a different way:

“You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.”

What would that perfect day look like? Could every day become a perfect day if we followed Coach Wooden’s philosophy?

Who is the “someone” who will never be able to repay you? And, does it always have to be a stranger? Can we serve those we’re close to without ever expecting or needing to be repaid?

May we begin to account at the end of each day those things we were able to do for someone else – the stranger or the loved one without expecting repayment. Not to make ourselves feel good, but to know that at least in some regard, each day is indeed a perfect day.

“Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” Hebrews 13:1-2

We are blessed to be a blessing,
Vikki
