People Are Blessings

Earlier this week our family watched the movie Tammy. I had heard mixed reviews about the movie and to tell you the truth, I was not all that keen on watching it, as brainless humor is not my deal. I feel like I have wasted my time when I watch a movie that in my opinion is stupid. I feel cheated.

Anyway, the movie was good. It was funny, it drained your brain for 90 minutes so you didn’t have to think too much, and just laugh. That was the first good thing that happened that night. NO wait, that was the second good thing that happened that night. The first good thing was we watched the movie together as a family. That was really nice.

So, now we are up to the third good thing that happened. After the movie was over I realized that there was a message in it. Even though it was goofy humor, it had a message.

Tammy is a fast-food worker that gets fired from her job . She is kind of down on her luck, and not a lot of good things happen for her. Being kind of desperate she and her grandmother go on a road trip, where woes continue…..

Over the course of the trip and her adventures with her grandmother she discovers that there are people in her life that matter to her and that she matters to them in return.

Even though the movie was goofy- I was watching it with the most important people in my world. I realize that no matter what, I am blessed to have them in my life, no matter what. The good times, the bad times, the awesome “ oh my gosh I can’t believe this is happening times” and everything in between. We all have these times.

The new year brings new hopes, new goals , new adventures. But the one thing that comes forward over from the prior year is the people that matter the most to you. I am blessed this year, last year and hopefully in the years to come.

This Christmas I found a wall hanging that I gave to Terry. It said that Faith is not knowing what the future holds but Who holds the future.

Amen- Happy Blessed New Year.
