Open Your Eyes

When I was growing up I was a reader. Still am – but I don’t get to read for pleasure as much as I did when I was a child. I loved to read about Helen Keller. Her story is really inspiring. She was an amazing person.

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it."  - Helen Keller

"So much has been given me, I have no time to ponder over that which has been denied." - Helen Keller

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." - Helen Keller

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." - Helen Keller

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." - Helen Keller

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." – Helen Keller

Jesus healed a man who was blind (John 9) as an opportunity to point out that whether we have 20/20 vision or not, we don’t always “see.” We too often wear blinders and miss all that God might have for us. I pray that I might open my eyes and see God’s presence and activity in my life and in the world.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 as we help one another to see Jesus among us.

Grace and peace,
