New Eyes

What are you thinking now that 2016 is here? Are you glad to have a fresh, new year to make a clean start? Is it good riddance to 2015 and its troubles?

Did you make New Year resolutions? Maybe you didn’t, thinking that research says they don’t work anyway, so why bother. Perhaps you did – hoping for a better year to be a better you.

I read the best thing yesterday and I recommend we all try to resolve this.

From Glennon Doyle Melton:
I don’t want a new, better life in 2016. I just want new eyes to see that my life is already staggeringly beautiful.

That’s right, Jesus came so that we might have a full, abundant life. Let’s resolve to take the life we have. Let’s not hide behind self-improvement or apathy and instead fall into the arms of our God who loves us just as we are.

Happy New Year!

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 as we gather to worship and thank God for eyes to see what God is doing.

Grace and peace,

2 Corinthians 4:16-18The Message (MSG)
So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
