My Heart Is In His Hand

I John 3:19-20 This is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

Knowing the truth is feeling what is on your heart. Many times, I feel tears well up deep as I witness the work of God in the world. I'm thankful that I feel.

When I whisper that silent prayer, it is for God to quiet the beats of my heart that are unsteady or out of sync. It's like a reset button. Knowing God is being assured that he holds my heart in the palm of His hand. He protects it. Always. He knows when it's not right. And I do to.

That condemnation keeps me accountable to my master. It's been said that I tend to be a rebel. A rule breaker. Ken jokes that a STOP sign for me is simply a suggestion. Although I tend to push the outside limits established by society, the foundation on which I conduct my life has formed my heart. God will always sustain me. I treasure all the truths that have been carved into my heart for nearly one half a century. Those                                             truths provide a compass for my emotions, and for my heartbeat.

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for the tears that fall.
Thank you for the oil that heals.
Thank you for the joy of laughter.
Thank you for making my heart sense and feel.
Help me to be more loving and reflect a heartfelt love; the love that comes only from God.
My heart is in your hand.
Keep it pumping.
