Mission of Love

Dear Lovers,

When I think of the people who have taught me about love, they have primarily been women. My grandmothers, mother, wife, and daughter have all out loved the men in my life. In John 12:1-11 and Mark 14:3-9, we have the story of the woman who comes to anoint Jesus. The disciples and others want to chase her away and Jesus says, “Let her alone. She’s anticipating and honoring the day of my burial. “ John 12:7

Mother Teresa once said, "Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to next door neighbors. Let no one over come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness : Kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”

May this Valentine’s Day bring forth more than mere expressions of romantic love and erotica. May we pray into the power of Jesus' love which transforms lives and sends lovers out in mission to change the world.

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
